Al Fahidi is the oldest surviving neighbourhood in Dubai a cluster of windtower houses and narrow lanes that predates the city's transformation by decades. It is one of the few places in Dubai where the scale is still human, where you can stand in a lane and hear the neighbourhood rather than the highway.

Among the things that make it photographic: the textiles. Fabric hung between walls, draped over lines, folded in doorways. Colour and texture that belongs to the place and to the hands that put it there.
