This project was designed by Bani, the founder of Grounded Design one of Dubai's most respected interior design studios, for a private residence in one of the city's most sought-after neighborhoods. The brief produced a home that balances a considered material palette with the kind of livability that only comes from a designer who genuinely understands how people want to occupy a space.
The living room is the anchor of the project. Large windows bring in natural light that shifts through the day, playing off a palette of cream, marble, and black that is restrained in the best possible way. The marble fireplace is the focal point architectural in scale, warm in material, and precise in its relationship to the furniture around it.
What distinguishes Bani's approach in this room is the absence of visual noise. Everything earns its place. The black accents, cushions, frames, lamp bases create rhythm without drama. The furniture is scaled to the volume of the space rather than fighting it. Photographing this room required patience more than technique: waiting for the light to do what it was always going to do.
The kitchen is open and resolved. A black dining table anchors the dining zone against the brightness of the kitchen itself a contrast that photographs well and functions even better.
The standout detail is the wall of black and white photographs, which gives the space an editorial quality that most residential kitchens don't have. It tells you something about the client as much as the designer.
